Now that the season is in “full swing”, we can get up to date with the recent

ladies’ events. Firstly, congratulations to Jayne Greenough for her excellent

score in the April medal competition. She came first with a nett 66. Second was

Kim Marsh, nett 73, and third was. Kathy Blades with a nett 74.

The Easter Cup, played on a Saturday, was won this year by Sue Peacock with

34 points. Brenda Connaughton came second with 33 points, followed by Lady

Captain Josie Hallam with 30 points

Last Tuesday we played for the Josie Hallam trophy, a tradition going back to

the days when Josie was still working and the only Tuesday she could play with

the ladies was Easter Tuesday. The weather was very kind to us, and 14 ladies

really enjoyed the day. Jayne Greenough continued her good start to the

season, winning with 35 points. Sue Peacock was second with 33 points and

Josie came 3 rd with 32 points. Hmm! Some recurring names there. Ladies,

beware! Everyone, of course, got a prize. Thank you, Josie, for a great day as

usual.

This Tuesday we will be playing for the Audrey Arnold trophy. Audrey was one

of the earliest Lady Captain at Laceby, and she is remembered fondly by those

of us who knew her.
