Senior Captain’s Update

Having completed my first month as Senior Section Captain, all is going well, adding a few new members, and our competitive competition numbers have increased, having around 50+ competing on a Thursday.

We have played 4 matches, losing 6-0 to Seacroft away on a wet and windy day.

Gaining a credible 4-4 draw away to Tetney and as the weather improved, so did we, defeating Louth 6.5 to 1.5 at home, then followed it up with a 5.0 to 3.0 win away at Holme Hall.

We have two major events upcoming. The Lincolnshire Senior Past Captains on Friday the 16th May, and our Seniors Open, Thursday 10th July, which already has around 120 entrants.

My Chosen Charity for this Year will be the St Andrews Hospice, Grimsby. This is an organisation that specialises in End-of-Life care for those of any age. I look forward to the chance to help this wonderful organisation with the support from all areas of the club.

If there are any 55 and over gents out there who would like to join the section, just arrive on a Thursday morning, from 7:30 to 8:30. We will get you signed up for only £5 per year.
