Rabbits Update

On the 3rd May, the Rabbits team travelled away to Spalding. Its furthest fixture from home, of the season. This match is in its fourth year of playing, but it is not a fruitful fixture for the Rabbits team, seeing them gain only two points in that time.

With the first two fourballs lost, Laceby Manor were immediately staring defeat in the face.

In the third group consisting of Lee Taylor and Robert Cleland, they found themselves one down after the first two holes. However, Lee Taylor gained a par on the third to pull the match level. Rob Cleland then played excellent, consistent golf, to double the lead to 2 up, at the turn. The match then seesawed, with holes traded. After losing the 11th hole to pull the match to within one hole, Lee Taylor then birdied the 12th hole to regain the two hole lead. Before seeing this lead again halved, with the loss of the 13th hole, before Lee gained a par on the 14th hole to restore the two hole cushion. This was quickly pulled back to one hole on the 16th by the Spalding pair. The 17th hole was halved with pars. Meaning that Robert, and Lee could not lose. On the 18th hole, Robert proved to be the difference between the teams, sinking a twenty foot putt, for a par nett birdie to ensure that they gained victory by two holes.

Sadly this was the only point that Laceby gained, with the last three matches lost.

The overall result therefore saw another defeat away at Spalding 1 V 5.
